CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Prep Course (BICEC 3003)

This course will prepare graduates of the medical billing specialist program to prepare for the Certified Professional Coder Exam by the AAPC. Students who are attempting to take the exam, may also be eligible. The student will learn principles of medical coding related to the three main code books: CPT, ICD-10- CM Code Set and HCPCS Level II. This course is recommended for anyone who is preparing for a career in medical coding for a physician's office and who is preparing for AAPC's CPC certification examination.

Prerequisites

The following courses must be taken prior to this course
Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy strongly recommended and knowledge of basic CPT, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS Coding and/or previous graduate of MCCC's Medical Billing Specialist program

Students must own and/or purchase the ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and CPT Manuals of the current year in order to be successful. The course cost will include the CPC study guide and practice tests.
