This self-paced course gets you ready for the Linux+ (V8) exam. You'll learn how a Linux system starts up and how files and storage are organized; how the core of the OS and its drivers control hardware; and how to set up and manage disks, partitions, RAID arrays, and grouped storage. You'll also learn basic networking (computer names, DNS, network interfaces, and simple network tools), how to use the command line to move around and edit files, and how to use simple tricks for sending input/output and managing program settings. Finally, you'll practice archiving, compressing, backing up, and recovering files. Lessons include short readings, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises so you can try each skill.
