Oral Pathology (DHG 157)

This course familiarizes the students with the fundamentals of microscopic and gross pathology. Building on the concepts of general histology and embryology, the nature of disease is addressed with respect to etiology, mechanism of disease formation, inflammation, and the body's response to injury. The clinical presentation of basic disease processes that affect the oral cavity and the clinical and histological recognition of oral neoplasia are emphasized.

The following courses must be taken along side this course
DHG 158 - Theory and Practice of Dental Hygiene III. May be taken prior or during course.
