21st Century Ethical Issues (PHI 115)

Philosophical methods will be used to examine some of the most controversial contemporary ethical and social issues. Among the issues that will be discussed are the following: Cloning and genetic engineering; decriminalization of currently banned drugs; transgenderism and gender non-conformity; abortion; animal rights, capital punishment; euthanasia and assisted suicide; affirmative action/preferential treatment programs.
