Tools of the Trade

At The Culinary Arts Institute, we know that presentation is key, whether it's the food on the plate or the chefs in the kitchen. Our student uniforms consist of a traditional chef coat (with front and thermometer side pockets, and the CAI logo above the breast pocket), chef pants and chef hat.

You also need the proper tools in order to succeed in the hands-on classes. The Director has personally compiled a Culinary and Baking & Pastry set that includes all the basics, from chef's knives to measuring cups and spoons to kitchen shears and more. We've also put together a baking set, with all the utensils you need for completing your coursework and launching your career.

These and other items, such as aprons, side towels, neckerchiefs and textbooks, can be purchased at our Central Campus Bookstore or at

Student Testimonial

"The Culinary Arts Institute offers many resources to students to help them with scheduling classes and financial planning. ... At CAI, you can get an amazing education from some of the best instructors in the industry. You are not going to find a culinary school for the price offered by CAI. ... The instructors at CAI are amazing at what they do and it is fun learning from them. They really take the time to teach you what you need to know. The opportunities that CAI offers aren't everyday opportunities. … I would definitely recommend CAI to anyone who is considering a Culinary or Pastry degree. … There aren't even words to describe how incredible it is. ... My favorite thing about CAI is the bond you create with the school, the students and the instructors."
