Take your project management skills to the next level

In partnership with the Project Management Institute of Delaware Valley we offer courses that will enable students to sit for the International Industry Credential, Project Management Professional (PMP) or the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

The PMP® is the most widely accepted international project management credential in the world. According to research through ESMI® an economic modeling software, Southeastern Pennsylvania is expecting job growth in excess of 20 percent and over 10,000 open positions through 2030. The average earning for someone with this credential is $90K per year within this region. Project managers work in a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, contract research organizations, manufacturing, construction, information technology, and others.

Project Management Training is also available to companies as customized-on-site training to help prepare employees to better manage projects.

Foundations in Project Management

Looking to improve your project management skills but not sure yet if you want to take the PMP® certification exam? Taught by PMP-certified practitioners from a variety of professions and academic credentials, this 28-hour course provides an in-depth review of project management principles and is designed specifically to provide a proven and sound foundation of project management basics, practical examples and exercises to mimic real life. This course will help students increase their knowledge and confidence to be successful in managing projects of all sizes and complexities. Students will be able to immediately apply what they learn on the job. For those who may decide at a later date to take the PMP® certification exam, this course provides students with a solid foundation on which to prepare for the PMP® certification if they choose to do so at a later time. The course is aligned with the current PMP® Exam Content Outline, utilizing materials suggested by PMI for the 2021 PMP Exam preparation and it meets the 35-hour education requirement needed to apply to take the PMP® Exam for those who chose to do so. Courses are taught by PMP® certified instructors.

CAPM® Exam Prep

New to project management and seeking a certification that demonstrates your knowledge of project management practices? The CAPM® certification may be right for you as it does not require years of project management experience to become certified. This 24-hour preparation course meets the 23-hour requirement to apply for and to take the CAPM® Exam and is intended for those who are new to project management, or who have less than the practical experience needed to take the PMP® Exam. The focus is on how best to prepare, study for, and take the CAPM® credential examination. A review of material normally covered in the exam will be presented. Students will receive sample questions of the type given on the exam. The PMP® 35 education hours requirement is waived for CAPM® certification holders. Courses are taught by certified PMP® instructors.

PMI's ATP PMP® Exam Prep Course

PMI-DVC is a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP) and is specially trained and qualified to teach PMI's ATP PMP® Exam Prep Course. This intense, 35-hour preparation course contains five modules that immerse students in real-world scenarios, representing various industries and project management situations to help you practice applying principles and concepts at work. This course meets the 35-hour requirement to apply to take the PMP® Exam and is intended for those who are experienced in project management, or who have already taken project management courses. The focus is on how best to prepare, study for, and take the PMP® credential examination. A review of material normally covered in the exam will be presented. Successful completion of this course ensures that students will automatically meet the 35-hour education requirement in order to apply for and take the exam and that their education hours will not be subject to audit.

Educational Qualifications

According to the Project Management Institute, in order to sit for the exam, an applicant must meet the following educational requirements:

  • A four-year degree
  • 36 months of leading projects
  • 35 hours of approved project management training or a CAPM® certification

Or

  • A high school diploma or associate's degree
  • 60 hours of leading projects
  • 35 hours of approved project management training or a CAPM® certification
