In partnership with the Project Management Institute of Delaware Valley we offer courses that will enable students to sit for the International Industry Credential, Project Management Professional (PMP) or the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

The PMP® is the most widely accepted international project management credential in the world. According to research through ESMI® an economic modeling software, Southeastern Pennsylvania is expecting job growth in excess of 20 percent and over 10,000 open positions through 2030. The average earning for someone with this credential is $90K per year within this region. Project managers work in a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, contract research organizations, manufacturing, construction, information technology, and others.

Project Management Training is also available to companies as customized-on-site training to help prepare employees to better manage projects.

Foundations in Project Management

Accelerate your Project Management Knowledge

Are you new to project management and need to ramp up your skills in a hurry? If so, then this is the course for you. You will learn a good bit about everything project management. The course starts with why and how projects get started. Then, it goes into the planning basics of scope schedule and budget and how to create a project plan. You will also see how to manage a project team and manage risk.

Our instructors are all PMP-certified practitioners with experience in various professions and numerous academic credentials. This 28-hour course provides an in-depth review of project management principles and a proven and sound foundation of the basics of project management, practical examples, and exercises to mimic real life.

This course will help students increase their knowledge and confidence to manage projects of all sizes and complexities successfully. Students will be able to apply what they learn on the job immediately.

The course aligns with the current PMP Exam Content Outline. The hours that you spend taking this course can be applied to the 35-hour education requirement needed to sit for the PMP Exam.

CAPM® Exam Prep

Are you new to Project Management and seeking a certification demonstrating your knowledge of Project Management practices? The CAPM certification may be right for you as it does not require Project Management experience to become certified. This 24-hour preparation course meets the 23-hour requirement to apply for and take the CAPM Exam and is intended for those new to project management or with less than the practical experience needed to take the PMP Exam. The focus is on how best to prepare, study for, and take the CAPM credential examination.

A review of the material normally covered in the exam will be presented. Students will receive sample questions of the type given on the exam. The PMP 35 education hours requirement is waived for CAPM certification holders.

PMI's ATP PMP® Exam Prep Course

PMI-DVC is a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP), specially trained and qualified to teach PMI's PMP Exam Prep course. This intense, 35-hour preparation course contains five modules that immerse students in real-world scenarios, representing various industries and project management situations, to help you practice applying principles and concepts at work. This course meets the 35-hour requirement to apply to the PMP Exam and is intended for those who are experienced in project management or have already taken project management courses. The focus is on how best to prepare, study for, and take the PMP credential examination. A review of the material normally covered in the exam will be presented. Successful completion of this course ensures that students will automatically meet the 35-hour education requirement to apply for and take the exam and that their education hours will not be subject to audit.

Educational Qualifications

According to the Project Management Institute, in order to sit for the exam, an applicant must meet the following educational requirements:

  • A four-year degree
  • 36 months of leading projects
  • 35 hours of approved project management training or a CAPM® certification

Or

  • A high school diploma or associate's degree
  • 60 hours of leading projects
  • 35 hours of approved project management training or a CAPM® certification
