Sound Recording and Music Technology Assistant Professor

Steve Wanna is a multi-disciplinary sound and visual artist whose work includes music, sound design for dance collaborations, sculpture, installation, photography, and works for mixed media. Born and raised in Lebanon, he immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 15, receiving a doctorate in Music Composition from the University of Maryland in 2004. His music is regularly performed both nationally and internationally. Recent premiers include a performance of Edge of Sound at the Liverwire Festival in Baltimore (2016) and a presentation of his audiovisual installation in a single drop... at Virginia Tech University (2016). He has been teaching Sound Recording and Music Technology at the college level for the past decade.
