Two productions will be performed at Montgomery County Community College in November by students in the Theatre Arts Program, Drama Club and West End Student Theatre.

On Nov 8-11, Montco students will perform “We are Proud to Present a Presentation about the Herero of Namibia, Formerly Known as South West Africa, From the German Sudwestafrika, Between the Years 1884-1915" by Jackie Sibblies Drury in the Blackbox Theatre on the lower level of the Science Center on Central Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell.

In the play, a group of idealistic actors gathers to rehearse a recreation of the extinction of the Herero tribe at the hands of their German colonizers. Eventually, the horrific past clashes with the good intentions of the present and what seemed a faraway place and time comes too close to home.

Performances: Thursday, Nov. 8, 7 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 9, 12:30 and 7 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 10, 7 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 11, 2 p.m.

On Nov. 15-17, “She Kills Monsters” by Qui Nguyen will be performed in the South Hall Community Room on Montco’s West Campus, 101 College Drive, Pottstown. This comedic fantasy tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home after the death of her teenage sister. When Agnes finds her sister’s “Dungeons & Dragons” notebook, she begins a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure. Full of homicidal fairies, nasty ogres and ’90s pop culture, the play offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.

Performances: Thursday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 16, 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 17, 7 p.m. Tickets are required.
