Montgomery County Community College will host the Expressive Path Arts Showcase from May 23 to June 21 at the Fine Arts Gallery, North Hall, 16 East High Street, Pottstown.
The exhibit is curated by Expressive Path, a non-profit organization that works with high schools and other youth non-profits on arts-based projects. The organization received a county grant to develop the exhibition about drug and alcohol abuse prevention.
The exhibition features approximately 100 pieces created by high school students from ACLAMO, Anderson School, Centre Theater, Eisenhower School of Technology, Laurel House, Lincoln Center for Family & Youth, Norristown Area High School, Montgomery County Youth Center, My Life and Roosevelt Campus of NAHS.
In addition to the gallery exhibition, there will be two receptions open to the public. There will be a day reception on May 23 from 10:30 a.m. to noon, which will feature a live jazz trio, student performances, and refreshments. An evening reception will be held on June 6 from 6-8 p.m., also with student performances and light refreshments.
Expressive Path’s primary goal is helping adolescents who may otherwise not have the opportunity to participate in the arts. Expressive Path instructors provide lessons, workshops, art lectures and career guidance at local recreation centers, schools, alternative programs, youth shelters and churches. Expressive Path is funded through private donations, grants and fundraisers.
Major funding for this exhibition was provided by the Montgomery County Office of Drug & Alcohol, with additional assistance from Ambler Savings Bank, Douty Foundation, Hogs & Honey Foundation for Kids, Phillies Charities Inc., and the Rotary Club of Norristown.

The North Hall Fine Art Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.-9:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Closed weekends.
