The community is invited to Montgomery County Community College's PumpkinFest '19 to carve jack-o-lanterns.

Montgomery County Community College will host PumpkinFest ’19 -  the College’s third annual carve-it-yourself pumpkin workshop - on Saturday, Oct. 26, from noon to 4 p.m. on the back patio of the Fine Arts Center  on the College’s Central Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell. All participants get a free pumpkin when they RSVP.

Pumpkins for the event are donated by local businesses and the College’s community partners. The event is free and open to the public. Kid-safe carving tools are provided, as well as templates, carving ideas and space to get messy.  A rain date is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2.  Participants can also bring their own pumpkin if they wish.

Galleries Director Patrick Rodgers organizes the annual event to encourage community members to think about the art they create when they carve a pumpkin.

“It is one of those works of art that so many people create every October without really realizing it,” he said. “We want to give people tools, tips and expertise on how to creatively carve a pumpkin and have fun doing so with others.”
