Montgomery County Sheriff Sean Kilkenny will be honored during the Villanova vs. Providence basketball game at noon, Feb. 29, 2020 at the Wells Fargo Center for his military and civic service and his dedication to education.
Sheriff Kilkenny was elected for the first time in 2015 and again in 2019. He is the son of a police officer and served his country as both an active duty officer in the U.S. Army and as a reservist.
He retired as a lieutenant colonel after serving in Iraq, Kosovo, Bosnia and South Korea, first as a paratrooper and later, as a federal prosecutor in the Judge Advocates General Court.
Kilkenny earned his undergraduate degree from Villanova University, his juris doctor from Temple University and a master’s degree in strategic studies form the U.S. Army War College.
As a land use attorney, he founded Kilkenny Law and serves as the solicitor for several Montgomery County municipalities.
He also serves on the board of trustees at Montgomery County Community College where he has established a scholarship endowment for sheriff’s office employees and their families.
