Springtime is here! As the flowers bloom and temperatures warm, now is the perfect time to learn about Montgomery County Community College’s more than 100 degree and certificate programs.
MCCC will host spring open house events in April at our Pottstown and Blue Bell Campuses and an online open house. Each event is free and open to the public. Registration is recommended.
“These three events are a perfect opportunity to speak with faculty,” Katherine Browna, Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment, “and learn about academic programs, including hands-on experiences students can have in the classroom. For prospective students who want to learn more about the academic experience, these are the perfect events to do that.
“Students looking for academic support outside the classroom through tutoring or who want to be involved in clubs and organizations should attend these events too,” she said. “Career and Alumni Engagement, similarly, supports students’ journey during and after Montco. It’s a great opportunity to speak to guest support services staff and administrators that run programs.”
The Spring Open House series kicks off in North Hall at Pottstown Campus, 101 College Drive, Pottstown, Saturday, April 1 from 10 a.m. to noon. Attendees will meet with faculty, administrators, and current students to learn about the programs and services available at the College. Prospective students and families can receive information on topics like Financial Aid, Support Services, Academic Programs, Workforce Development, and Transfer Partnerships. Campus Tours will also be available. Guests will also have a chance to tour the new Wellness Center, which features an array of holistic support services to help students succeed academically and personally.
The next open house will be held at Blue Bell Campus, in the Health Sciences Center, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. In addition to learning information about the College and visiting each of the open buildings on campus, students interested in culinary arts or baking and pastry will have an opportunity to speak with faculty from The Hospitality Institute, who will be hosting demonstrations. Free swag will be offered at both the Pottstown and Blue Bell events to guests at check-in.
Finally, the College will hold an online open house Thursday, April 27 from 6-7 p.m. During this live event, guests will have the opportunity to: Enjoy a wide range of event programming, panels and presentations; learn about flexible programs; discover affordable ways to pay for college; ask questions during live Q&A breakout rooms and more.
“We’d love to see people attend all three open house experiences,” said Director of Admissions and Recruitment Michael Harcum. “At Montco, students can take courses at the Pottstown Campus, the Blue Bell Campus, or even from the convenience of their home with our flexible online campus. It’s not uncommon for students to create their schedules in different modalities. Montco is place for all.”
Choosing MCCC is an excellent decision for a number of reasons including its affordable tuition, holistic support, rigorous academic programs, transfer partnerships, flexible schedules, and its amazing network of more than 90,000 alumni.
Harcum encouraged those interested in learning more about the College and the incredible opportunities available to attend an open house event.
“These open house events align with our new strategic plan,” said Harcum, “which seeks to build a future together in collaboration with students, faculty, staff, administrators and community partners, with a goal to be of service to our students in the community.”
