MCCC Theatre Arts and West End Student Theatre present 'The Moors' Nov. 6-9

Montgomery County Community College’s (MCCC) Theatre Arts Program and West End Student Theatre invite the community to experience their fall production of “The Moors,” a dark comedy written by acclaimed playwright and author Jen Silverman. Directed by Jessica DalCanton, MCCC Assistant Professor of Theatre, the performance promises an engaging blend of wit and intrigue.

Performances will be held Nov. 6, 7, and 8 at 7 p.m.; Nov. 7, at 12:30 p.m.; and Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. in North Hall 228 (second floor) at MCCC’s Pottstown Campus, 16 E. High Street, Pottstown. Tickets can be ordered online and are $15 for general admission and $10 for students.  Free, convenient parking is available in MCCC’s South Hall parking lot, 101 College Drive.

The MoorsSet on the remote English countryside, “The Moors” follows two sisters and their dog as they navigate isolation, longing, and ambition. When a naïve governess and a moorhen arrive unexpectedly, the household spirals into a humorous tale of love, desperation, and visibility. Please note: This play features mature content and language and is best suited for viewers 16 years and older.

The talented student cast features Persephone Harshbarger, Elizabeth Kieser, Will Olsen, Peyton Seitzinger, Autumn Sherry and Gracie Vanning.

The production team includes Erin Armstrong, Maeve Brennan, Persephone Harshbarger, Rhea Khilnani, Elizabeth Kieser, Zoa Krencik, Will Olsen, Adam Rickert, Nara Tith, and Echo Wallower.

The student performances are part of MCCC’s Montco Cultural Center, which encompasses interrelated creative spaces where ideas, artistry, and community converge. Spanning both the Blue Bell and Pottstown campuses, the Montco Cultural Center includes fine art galleries and intimate theaters to showcase the arts in unique and innovative ways.
