Whitpain Township and Montgomery County Community College have teamed up once again to offer an incredible day of family-friendly fun at the annual Whitpain Community Festival. The community is invited to the festivities Saturday, Sept. 26, starting at noon on MCCC’s beautiful Blue Bell Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, and concluding with free performances by Basic Cable and Don’t Call Me Francis and a spectacular fireworks display.
Admission to the event is free and open to all. There is a cost for some activities including food trucks and games. Cash is preferred when shopping vendors. For details, visit the Festival's website.
During the evening before the Festival, Friday, Sept. 25, the Township and College
will host the Big Rig Roundup in the Morris Road parking lot from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Children
can explore the vehicles and equipment used by the local emergency services and public
works departments. The event includes a minimal noise hour from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.,
during which time, there will be no sirens, horns or loud engines running.
On Saturday, the Festival kicks off at noon with local craft vendors, a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, pony rides, hayrides, children’s games and inflatables. Food trucks will line the festival beginning at noon and a beer garden will be open for visitors over 21 years old from 2-8 p.m.
Two creators from the “Mathemalchemy” exhibit currently on display in the Montco Cultural Center Theater Gallery will also lead all-ages craft activities including crochet and origami during the Festival from noon to 4 p.m. They will discuss how these activities intersect with all levels of mathematics.
The Montco Cultural Center will offer discounted tickets for the 2026-2027 season from 12-4 p.m. in the Montco Cultural Center Theater lobby. The offer will only be available to those who purchase tickets in person during the Festival times.
In addition, MCCC students will host a health expo with display tables of health care information during the day. Students will also help register volunteers for the National Bone Marrow Registry. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 60 can submit a cheek swab and complete the required paperwork to be added to this life-saving registry. All MCCC alumni are invited to enjoy the Festival and visit the alumni table to catch up with the latest news about the College.
The Whitpain Community Festival will have plenty of live performances throughout the day as well. Make sure to bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax and enjoy the show.
Fort Washington School of Rock hits the stage from 3:30-4:15 p.m. Then Basic Cable will keep the music going from 5– 6 p.m. before Don’t Call Me Francis closes out the performances beginning 7 p.m.
Don’t Call Me Francis is one of South Jersey’s most in-demand live party bands, with
over 30 years under their belt, they deliver high-energy performances across concerts,
casinos, clubs, weddings, and private events, according to the band’s website.
The Festival finale features a dazzling firework display with music behind MCCC’s College Hall at 8:15 p.m.
