Montgomery County Community College’s Theatre Arts Program and the Drama Club invite the community to experience their fall production of “Sometimes the Rain, Sometimes the Sea” by Julia Izumi.
Directed by Theatre Lecturer Amanda Coffin, this comedy puts a spin on the classic fairytale, “The Little Mermaid.”
Performances will run Nov. 19-22 in the Black Box Theatre, Science Center building,
Room 107, Blue Bell Campus, 1313 Morris Road, Blue Bell, PA 19422. The curtain lifts
Nov. 19, 20 and 21 at 7 p.m.; Nov. 20 at 12:30 p.m.; and Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. Doors open
15 minutes before each performance. For tickets and information, visit Culture Events landing page.
““The Little Mermaid” is Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved and well-known fairy
tale, which is why it’s not the story we are going to tell you. No, no way,” according
to the play’s logline. “We’re going to tell you the story about a Little Rain Cloud
who falls in love with a human. They are not the same story at all, we promise!” This
play features some mature language and is best suited for viewers 14 and up.
The talented student cast features Dom Hernandez as Dolan, Cynthia Acevedo as Rain Cloud, Dario Rojas as Ralmond, Dinia Hernandez as Midi, Josiah Roberson as Edvard, Luana Costa Baptista as Ina, Jane Aversa as Bessie and Vic Bewley as Little One.
