ability or effort, with concerns frequently attributed to motivation or time management
rather than underlying cognitive, emotional, or learning factors. This workshop introduces
psychological assessment as an evidence-based tool for coordinated student support
across faculty, disability services, counseling centers, and academic support offices.
The session clarifies the role of assessment in higher education and offers practical
strategies and language for supporting students within appropriate professional boundaries.

In this presentation, Senior Adjunct Lecturer Marybeth Kuehnert will discuss her paper titled, “The Retooling of Betty Freidan.” In this presentation, Marybeth will focus on the interconnectedness of empowerment and education of women and girls in the current age. Through this discussion, she will discuss the impact of literature from ground-breaking feminist works to modern young adult novels and the impact they have on the modern feminist message.
