Painting I (ART 121)

An introduction to painting. Students will paint a variety of subjects utilizing representation and abstraction. Emphasis will be placed on developing an understanding of the physical properties of paint and its mediums, application techniques, and color mixing. Students will develop an understanding of line and tone, composition, perspective, and other perceptual concepts. Studio work will be augmented by critiques, discussions, and demonstrations. This course is subject to a course fee.
