The industry standard in food safety training and certification, ServSafe® Food Safety Manager Certification provides training and certification for food handlers as required by the State of Pennsylvania.
In our condensed ServSafe® 8-Hour Course, you will complete 8-hours of independent study in addition to 8-hours in the classroom. Instruction covers all materials needed to pass the ServSafe® examination and obtain certification.
Required materials
Prior to attending class, you will need the required textbook, which can be purchased and picked up through the bookstore at Montgomery County Community College.
Preparing for class:
Participants are expected to read the entire textbook, complete all true/false questions
in the beginning of each chapter, and complete all multiple choice questions in each
chapter. Please allow for at least two weeks to prepare for your registered class.
Day of session:
Please wear comfortable clothes. Bring your textbook and prep materials, snacks, lunch,
and photo ID to the session. Individuals will not be issued an exam booklet without
an ID.
Montgomery County Community College is an approved course provider for Montgomery, Bucks, and Philadelphia counties, with successful completion valid towards application for certification in all three counties. Additionally, a reciprocity agreement between Montgomery and Chester counties allows successful participants to apply for certification in Chester County upon completion.
ServSafe® classes are conveniently offered at Blue Bell Campus and Pottstown Campus.

The ServSafe® One-Day course is a condensed version of the Initial Certification class. Students are expected to complete eight hours of self-study in advance of eight hours in the classroom. Students will take the same exam as the ServSafe® Initial Certification class.
