The CPC Prep Course will prepare students to sit for the AAPC’s Certified Professional Coder Exam

This 60-hour online class will be taught by a coding professional from large healthcare systems. Eligible candidates are graduates of MCCC’s Medical Billing Specialist program and/or individuals with a combined billing and coding credential and/or 1 year experience in billing and coding. Students must own and or purchase the current year of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), ICD-10, and HCPCS manual. The cost of the course includes instruction, the CPC Test Prep Study Guide, and practice tests. The actual CPC exam is not included in the course.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be able to:
  • Identify the purpose of the CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II code books

  • Apply coding conventions when assigning diagnoses and procedure codes

  • Identify the information in appendices of the CPT® code book

  • Explain the determination of the levels of E/M services

  • Provide practical application of coding operative reports and evaluation and management services Course Content relative to various body systems.
