Like the thought of working with older adults in a helping profession? Montco's 36-credit Gerontology Certificate prepares you to do exactly this. Our program focuses on the aging process and the issues and services associated with aging. After receiving your certificate, you can pursue such human services careers as administrator, activities director, adult day care provider, case worker, consumer advocate, lifelong learning instructor, senior center manager, social services coordinator and volunteer coordinator.
Montco's Gerontology program mirrors our Human Services Certificate program. The only difference is Gerontology's emphasis on older adults.
Note: You may have to take placement tests prior to enrolling in some of the Gerontology courses. Please see our placement testing guidelines for further information.
- Demonstrate all of the skills and knowledge needed to obtain entry level employment in an agency or facility for the older adult.
