The annual Whitpain Community Festival was a fun-filled family event.

On Saturday, Sept. 29, thousands of visitors attended the annual Whitpain Community Festival, co-hosted by Montco and Whitpain Township. Our Central Campus in Blue Bell was a hub of activities, music and entertainment for people of all ages. The free event started at noon and concluded after dusk with a spectacular display of fireworks.

Families enjoyed the hayrides, participated in the many games and art activities, watched the dance performances and learned about ways to stay healthy at the Wellness Fair hosted by our students and faculty. The Phillie Phanatic and our Mustang mascot brought smiles to children’s faces with their antics. The food trucks, vendors and P.J. Whelihan’s Pub provided a wide selection of food and beverages for everyone. Visit Montco's facebook page to see photos of the event.

Music performances started in the afternoon with Two of a Kind and the School of Rock and continued throughout the evening with the Craig Thatcher Band and CTO Tribeca.

Montco students, faculty, administrators, staff and alumni volunteered their time in planning for and working at the festival in a variety of ways, including hosting children’s games, staffing information tables and helping wherever needed.

The Festival committee led by Brent Woods, Patrick Foley (of The Foley Hillsley Group, co-lead sponsor) and Kurt Baker (Director of the Township’s Parks and Recreation) with the assistance of the Township staff, police and fire departments and many volunteers created a safe, wonderful experience for visitors. This is the fifth year Montco and the Township have collaborated to host this growing event for the community.

Event sponsors included The Foley Hillsley Group and Montco’s Lively Arts Series. Gold sponsors included Arden Credit Union, Chambers Associates, McCaffrey’s Food Markets and P.J. Whelihan’s Pub. Silver sponsors included American Heritage Credit Union, MidAtlantic Construction, Sesame/Rockwood Camps and Whitpain Police Association. Bronze sponsors included Blue Bell Country Club, GSI Concrete, Janney Montgomery Scott – Patitucci Wealth Management, McMahon Associates, Inc., Professional Data Solutions, TD Bank and Univest Bank and Trust Co. Friends of the Festival include the Rothman Institute and Weichert Realtors.
