Montgomery County Community College’s (MCCC) will be hosting an electronics recycling collection in collaboration with Responsible Recycling Services of Kutztown, Pa. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the parking lot adjacent to MCCC’s Sustainability & Innovation Hub, West Campus, 140 College Drive, Pottstown.
Students, employees and community members are invited to bring their broken, unwanted and outdated electronics between 10 a.m. and noon or until the truck is full.
Items that can be recycled free of charge include desktop and laptop computers, DVD players, VCRs, keyboards and mice, gaming systems, printers, fax machines, strands of Christmas lights, cables, cords, microwaves, small appliances, cell phone and laptop batteries, metal items, calculators, adding machines, exercise equipment, UPS battery backups, car batteries (sealed lead acid), toner and ink cartridges, bed frames, rain spouting, audio visual equipment, filing cabinets, telephones and cell phones.
Items that can be recycled for a small fee include washers ($20), dryers ($20), dishwashers ($20), air conditioners ($25), dehumidifiers ($25), refrigerators ($30), CRT ($15) and LCD ($10) monitors, floor freezers ($30), televisions under 40 inches ($35), televisions over 40 inches ($55), ranges and stoves ($20), floor copiers ($20) and console stereos ($35). Broken televisions will not be accepted. Please bring cash or checks made payable to Responsible Recycling Services.
