Montgomery County Community College’s Board of Trustees and the Montgomery County Community College Support Staff Assembly, Local #4316, PA Federation of Teachers (AFT, AFL-CIO) signed a new collective bargaining agreement on February 19 during the Board’s monthly meeting.

Both parties agreed to the four-year contract after several months of good faith negotiations. The contract covers the time period of July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2021, and supports the needs of the MCCC community while being fiscally prudent and responsible.

Among its key components, the contract includes:

  • Salary increases for support staff of 2.7 percent per year for the full-term of the contract;
  • A one-time payment of $850 to be awarded the first year (but not added to the base salary); and
  • Health care and prescription coverage approaches that enable the College to continue offering quality, affordable benefits while mitigating cost increases.

Overall, the agreement enables MCCC to continue to invest in current and future support staff employees while providing a quality educational experience for students and the community.
