Montgomery County Community College rolled out the virtual red carpet for former Mustangs during an Alumni Homecoming event held on Nov. 10 via Zoom. Dr. Victoria Bastecki-Perez, MCCC President, and Jay Browning, MCCC Vice President for Advancement, greeted the 23 participants.
Throughout the event, alumni had the opportunity to learn more about what is happening at Montco and how they can become involved. Bill Vitiello, Chair of the Alumni Association Board, spoke about how the board engages with the College, assisting with events and activities, as well as community outreach. Mike Harcum, Associate Director of Admissions and Dual Enrollment, spoke about new programs and opportunities at Montco, and Takisha Munday, Director of Career Services, discussed how her team assists alumni with career development and employment.
Advancement team members, Sarah Rudich, Director of Development and Major and Planned Giving, and Krissy Freeman, Associate Director of Annual Giving, directed alumni to several breakout rooms. These virtual spaces included a College Through the Years nostalgia room, a Pottstown Possibilities room sharing the new ideas for the Pottstown Campus and an Open Discussion/Networking room where alumni could connect or reconnect with each other.
“I’m glad we had this opportunity to meet with and get to know more of our alumni and for them to get to know us,” said Browning. “It’s important, especially now, to stay connected with our Montco family and let them know that Montco is always here for them.”
