Montco's Employee Celebration is a time to reflect upon and celebrate the many accomplishments of our dedicated Montco Family. President Dr. Victoria Bastecki-Perez started the celebration with a special message thanking employees for all of their work in support of our students and their success.
Employee Celebration Day 1 – Employee Service Recognition
On Day 1, the Employee Celebration recognized and thanked 140 employees who collectively worked 2,000 years. These individuals reached their respective five-, 10-, 15-, 25-, 30-, 35-, 45- and 50-year milestones.
A special congratulations to Dr. Celeste Schwartz, Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Digital Officer, for her 50 years of service at Montco, and Chemistry Senior Lecturer Alan Welsh for his 45 year of teaching.
Employee Celebration Day 2 - Innovation of the Year 2021
The innovation of the year award from the National League of Innovation in the Community College recognizes faculty and staff members who have designed and implemented a significant innovative project or initiative on campus.
This past year, employees nominated 13 different projects for the award. The criteria for selection includes quality, efficiency, cost effectiveness, replication, creativity and timeliness. The nominated projects are:
- Online teaching training certification for faculty
- Blackboard platform for nursing accreditation
- Robotic process automation
- Automation of dual admissions process
- Development and implementation of Montco Connect platform and mobile app
- Implementation of a nursing resource specialist
- Implementation of collegiate admissions
- Creating virtual space in Blackboard Collaborate Ultra
- Using TechSmith Knowmia to continue trainings for frontline staff
- Implementation of virtual proctoring in lieu of face-to-face proctoring
- Transition from face-to-face advising to virtual drop-in advising
- Development and implementation of Talkspace and Benefits Data Trust
- Simulation capture and livestream system for nursing students
The Innovation of the Year award was awarded to the Montco Connect project. This project was initiated to improve the effectiveness of student communications. Montco Connect leverages the web portal to communicate and engage with students. The platform includes online clubs and events and has a companion mobile app. The award recipients are Amanda Hall, Amelia Fox, Andrew Rosner, Angela Cavaliere, Holly Ann Clayton, Michael Harcum, Natalie Palmer, Robert Vogel, Sarah Schenk, Sean Hutchinson, Tiffany Webber, Tyler Steffy, Molly Haffner, Joe Mancini and Kasey Golding.
Employee Celebration Day 3 – Retirees
