Montgomery County Community College’s Psychology program prepares students for transfer to a four-year college or university to continue their study of psychology in preparation for careers as counselors, therapists, case managers and various kinds of psychologists.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 12% growth in employment opportunities for psychologists through 2022. Growth in this field stems, in part, from increased demand for psychological services in hospitals, schools, social service agencies, mental health centers, substance abuse treatment clinics and private companies. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, job opportunities will be most plentiful for individuals with doctoral degrees in applied specialty areas such as counseling, health psychology and school psychology.
