Two Session Dates:

This introductory course is designed for students with little to no prior experience in Korean. Over 30 hours of instruction, participants will develop basic communication skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Emphasis will be placed on learning Hangul (the Korean alphabet), essential vocabulary, pronunciation, and simple grammar structures needed for everyday interactions. Cultural insights will be integrated throughout the course to enhance understanding and appreciation of Korean language and society.

Graduates of Elementary Korean and/or those with basic language proficiency can continue to build their language skills!  Korean Level 2 focuses on enhancing vocabulary, mastering basic grammar, and improving conversational abilities for real-life situations, often integrating cultural insights.  Students will leave with the following skills:

  • Focus Areas: Continued development of four skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing).
  • Conversational Proficiency: Emphasis on practical, everyday communication and handling basic social situations.
  • Grammar & Vocabulary: Introduction to more complex sentence structures while reviewing basics, often including increased vocabulary.
  • Cultural Competence: Incorporation of cultural material to understand context.
