Mission and Vision
Get ready to embark on a transformative journey at our College, where education, job training, and enriching activities converge to shape brighter futures. We are passionately committed to empowering you not just during your time here, but throughout your life's endeavors. Our mission is to serve as a beacon of opportunity, promoting social mobility and financial well-being for all members of our diverse community.
Commitment to Equity
At Montco, equity isn't just a buzzword—it's a guiding principle. We abide by laws prohibiting discrimination and actively cultivate a diverse environment where every individual, regardless of race, religion, gender, or ability, has an equal opportunity to thrive. From fair educational access to targeted initiatives addressing disparities, we're dedicated to leveling the playing field and ensuring that education and job opportunities are within reach for everyone.
Your success is our priority, which is why all our campus buildings and classrooms are designed with accessibility in mind. If you encounter any barriers, our Disability Services team is here to help and ensure that you have the support you need to excel.
Mandatory Participation
To be eligible for financial aid, you must begin attending all your classes and actively participate within 1-2 days of your start date. Attendance involves more than merely showing up for the first session or clicking into the online course on day one. In an asynchronous online course, your engagement in course-required activities equals attendance. If you fail to attend, the College is obligated to drop you from the class. For more information about basic financial aid eligibility, please view the Eligibility Requirements on the Federal Student Aid website. It is important to comply with these guidelines to maintain your eligibility for financial aid so, if you have any questions regarding this policy, you should email: [email protected].
College Policies
Stay informed about College and Student Success policies either by clicking on the Policies button on your Canvas Home page, or the link below. We believe in transparency and accessibility, ensuring that our Policies and Procedures are readily available to all students.
Barnes & Noble Bookstore
Required textbooks for this course are included through a fee-based Montco Materials program. Check your Montco student email to confirm the titles for this class. Students can opt out of the program for the semester. See mc3.edu/bookstore for more details.
Student Success Resources
In addition, the College makes available many resources that are available to support your personal and academic growth and success. Explanations of these Student resources can be found on the website under For Students.
Disability Services
We believe in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students to ensure that everyone has equal access to our programs, events, and facilities. To support this goal, we have established a Disability Services department. If you have a disability or require accommodations, please contact the Disability Services team Monday–Friday, from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. at [email protected] or 215-641-6575. They are here to provide support and resources to help you succeed! Therefore, if you encounter any barriers, including a need for accessible furniture, please don’t hesitate to reach out for assistance.
Sometimes circumstances change and plans have to change, too. Here are some things
to keep in mind if you find yourself in this situation:
Withdrawal from Courses
Students who want to withdraw from a course need to talk to their instructor or academic advisor first. If they decide to withdraw before completing 60% of the course, they have to fill out an official form. Their transcript will show a "W" for withdrawal. If it is after 60% but before 75% of the course, they need the instructor's permission and fill out an online form. The college's calendar has all the dates students need to know for withdrawing from courses.
Withdrawal after Deadline
If you need to withdraw from a course after the deadline because of medical issues, a major event, or something else out of your control, you can ask for a withdrawal. Just make sure to provide documentation to support your request. You can find more details about withdrawals in the Comprehensive Grading policy on the College website.
Withdrawal for Military Activation or Reassignment
If you are in the military and need to withdraw from classes due to activation or reassignment, simply notify your instructors and the Office of Veteran Services. They will guide you through the steps to formally request a military withdrawal. Make sure to include your military activation orders or a letter from your unit's commander on official letterhead when submitting your request. This ensures you can focus on your military duties without worrying about your coursework.
