Montgomery County Community College’s Dental Hygiene Program will host a special presentation for dental professionals on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019.

“Making Local Anesthesia Stick: A review of the Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics of Local Anesthetic Agents and Vasoconstrictors” will be presented by Thomas Viola, R.Ph., C.C.P., a pharmacist, author and lecturer of dental pharmacology and local anesthesia. Viola is a faculty member of seven dental hygiene programs in Pennsylvania and New Jersey where he is a consultant to the State Board of Dentistry.

This program is appropriate for dental hygienists and other dental professionals who are required to renew their licenses in March 2019. The program provides an overview of the pharmacology and therapeutics of local anesthetic agents. A special emphasis will be given to those agents commonly administered in dental practice and patient management techniques necessary with specific disease states. Attendees will earn three continuing education credits.

The day will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m., followed by the educational program, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The presentation will be held in Science Center Room 213 at MCCC’s Central Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, Pa.

The course fee is $50 and 46 percent of the fee is tax-deductible. Proceeds will support MCCC’s dental hygiene scholarships. Register online to secure your seat.
