Olivia Nnadi, a strategy consultant at KPMG, will be the first guest on "Prof Talks," a new online interview series for students and community members.

Students as well as members of the community at Montgomery County Community College will get a unique look at the workforce ahead of them, as the College has launched a new online interview series, featuring diverse professionals from a wide array of industries.

“Prof Talks,” an interdisciplinary, interactive, interview series, will enrich MCCC students with the experiences of these individuals. Students will gain new insights into their own academic journeys and career paths by hearing the stories of these industry leaders.

“This is an active learning experience where students will be able to ask questions and hear how our speakers established and achieved their goals, how they overcame obstacles, and the lessons they learned along the way,” said Dr. Stephanie Nnadi, Biology Instructor, who is co-leading the series with Amanda M. Leftwich, Student Success Librarian. “This is in an informal interview format. Our hope is that our students can relate to our speakers and encourage our students to persevere in their own academic and professional journeys at MCCC and beyond.”

Students, faculty, staff and members of the community are invited to attend the first virtual discussion via Zoom on Friday, Sept. 25, at 12:30 p.m. The free event is open to the public.

The series’ first guest will be Olivia Nnadi, a strategy consultant at KPMG.  Olivia is currently a Manager in KPMG’s Deal Advisory & Strategy Practice. She specializes in innovation, growth, and business operations strategy. Olivia has served clients across leading consumer, retail, healthcare and life sciences companies and financial institutions.

Prior to her career in consulting, Olivia worked as a process design engineer at Kraft Foods & Mondelez where she commercialized over a dozen new products, including BelVita Breakfast Biscuits.

Olivia holds a B.A. and M.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, where she was awarded the Gates Millennium Scholarship.  She completed her MBA at Harvard Business School.

Dr. Nnadi said she’s invited her sister to her individual classes to speak to students in the past, and many students have come away feeling inspired.

“Her words resonate with students,” she said. “Her story is incredible. She talks about obstacles along the way on her academic journey and the lessons she’s learned. She’ll have great advice for students on how to stay motivated.”

Future guests in the interview series will include Damon Gray, Finance and Management Instructor Business and Entrepreneurial Initiatives at MCCC and managing principal and founding member of Jura InvestmentsTM LLC, in October, and Dr. Samuel D. Echeverri, a board-certified general surgeon at Morristown Surgical Associates, in November.
