Montgomery County Community College's Office of Marketing and Communications recently earned top awards for its marketing, advertising, and communications work.

Montgomery County Community College’s Office of Marketing and Communications (MARCOM) recently received several regional and national awards for its marketing and communications work.

The MARCOM team received two gold awards, six silver awards and one bronze award in nine categories for the 2021 Collegiate Advertising Awards.

The Collegiate Advertising Awards program is an elite national program that honors marketing professionals for outstanding work in advertising, marketing and promotion in higher education.

In addition to the Collegiate Advertising Awards, the MARCOM team earned two gold awards at the 2021 Paragon Awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR). The awards were for “Mustang Mentality” in the short video category and “A Walk Down Memory Lane” in the microsite/landing page category.

The 2021 Paragon Awards drew 1,719 entries from 232 colleges across the country and was judged by nearly 70 professionals in the marketing and public relations industry. NCMPR is a professional development organization for community college communicators, serving more than 1,500 members from more than 470 colleges across the United States and Canada.

The MARCOM team also earned three Cuppie Awards from the College and University Public Relations and Associated Professionals organization. The “Mustang Mentality” video earned a gold award in the short-form web video category, the “Montco On the Move” podcast received a silver award in the digital category and an honorable mention for “A Walk Down Memory Lane – History of the College” timeline in the wild card category.

The Cuppie Awards recognize creative excellence in marketing and communications of member institutions in the categories of advertising, electronic media, print, public relations, marketing, writing and photography. This year, CUPRAP received 333 entries. CUPRAP is a voluntary organization of communications professionals from colleges, universities and independent schools and has nearly 350 members from 100 institutions.
