Officials from Whitpain Township and Montgomery County Community College recently gathered to celebrate the ceremonial grand opening of refurbished tennis courts on the College’s Blue Bell Campus, located near the Health Sciences Center (Cathcart Road entrance).

“The College and Township have built a strong relationship over the years,” said Whitpain Township Board Chair Scott Badami. “The tennis court project and the Annual Whitpain Community Festival are two examples of our mutually beneficial relationship.”

“We deeply value the longstanding partnership with Whitpain Township,” said Dr. Vicki Bastecki-Perez, President of Montgomery County Community College. “This collaboration expands recreational opportunities and broadens access to wellness-focused activities for our students, employees, and the greater community.”

Relocating tennis operations to the College’s campus allowed the Township to begin construction on dedicated pickleball courts on the former tennis court site at Wentz Run Park. The new pickleball courts are expected to open in mid-September.
