Ayo Patterson

Ayo Patterson is a registered nurse who has been a resident of Philadelphia his entire life. Before starting his nursing career, Ayo earned a Bachelor's in Liberal Arts from Eastern Mennonite University. Upon returning to Philadelphia, he earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Montgomery County Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Eastern University. With over 15 years of experience, his acute care career includes emergency, psychiatric, geriatric, medical, and surgical nursing. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated leadership skills as a resource, unit charge, and preceptor nurse.

Ayo is a facility resource nurse at  Waverly Heights in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, and a substitute school nurse for the School District of Philadelphia. When called upon, Ayo exemplifies commitment to his community and public health as a volunteer for local events. He is also a self-starter who has partnered with black-owned small businesses to improve access to vaccines and medications. Ayo is a valuable asset to the Board of Trustees. His clinical expertise, unique experiences, and perspective will enhance and positively influence Montgomery County Community College's Nursing program and the experiences and education of the diverse student body.
