Joseph Meltzer
Joseph H. Meltzer is the newest member of the Board of Trustees for Montgomery County Community College, joining in 2026. Joe is a named partner in Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP, where he has practiced for nearly 25 years. Based in Radnor, the firm specializes in complex and financial fraud litigation and Joe leads the firm’s Fiduciary, Consumer Protection and Antitrust groups. Joe has represented institutional investor clients in a variety of breach of fiduciary duty cases and has some of the largest settlements in fiduciary breach actions including several recoveries in the hundreds of millions of dollars. In his antitrust work, Joe represents clients injured by anticompetitive and unlawful business practices, including overcharges related to prescription drugs, health care expenditures and commodities. Joe has also represented various states in pharmaceutical pricing litigation as a Special Assistant Attorney General.
Joe is a proud graduate of the University of Maryland and Temple University School of Law. He is an active alumnus of each school, serving on the BSOS Board of Visitors at UMD and the Board of Visitors at Temple Law School. Joe also regularly visits each school and has been asked to address students on career-related topics. His advice is always the same – and is the same advice he offers to his daughters – “Your prospects for success and happiness greatly increase if you choose a career where you’re proud of the work.”
With the exception of a few years in Maryland and center city Philadelphia, Joe is a lifetime resident of Montgomery County. Currently, he and his wife Wendi are empty-nesters in Lower Gwynedd. In his spare time, Joe enjoys being active and playing bad golf.
