Spring has sprung and now is the perfect time to learn all that Montgomery County Community College has to offer during a spring open house.

MCCC is proud to host free open house events at the Pottstown Campus on Saturday, April 11, and Blue Bell Campus on Saturday, April 25, for prospective students, their families and members of the community.

“Attending a spring open house event is an essential opportunity to connect with Admissions and content experts at the College,” said Michael Harcum, Director of Admissions and Recruitment. “Esteemed faculty, support services, and current students are just a few of the folks you’ll meet who will be able to provide a truly holistic view of what to expect as a student prior to enrolling. These are can’t-miss events, and we can’t wait to welcome you.”

“Members of Workforce Development and Student Service department representatives will be on hand to help students get started at the College,” said Harcum, “and have support resources to make it to the finish line.”

Prospective students and their families will also receive information on topics like Financial Aid, Support Services, Academic Programs, Workforce Development, and Transfer Partnerships.

Guests to the open house will also have an opportunity to explore Pottstown Campus’s other facilities, which include a game room, fitness center, and the Science on a Sphere exhibit, as well as the nearby classrooms and labs in South Hall. In North Hall, guests can tour the theater, CNC machine shop and Wellness Center, which features an array of free, holistic support services for students.

Representatives from the Community Health & Dental Care's (CHDC) new mobile dental unit will also be on campus to provide information about convenient, on-site access to dental services, including checkups, cleanings, X-rays, sealants, fillings, and simple extractions to help support the dental health needs of students, employees, and community members

MCCC also welcomes employers and employees to the open houses to learn more about its 100+ programs, flexible schedules and online learning. Through MCCC’s Prior Learning Assessment, working students may qualify for credits or waiver of courses, depending on experience and training, allowing them to get a head start on earning an associate’s degree.

Blue Bell Campus Spring Open House April 25

The Blue Bell Campus spring open house is on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to noon in the lobby of the Science Center building, 1313 Morris Road, Blue Bell. Register for the event.

“Blue Canary,” the student-led jazz band featuring music majors, will perform in the Black Box Theatre Room 100 of the Science Center building during the duration of the event.

Additionally, the Montco Cultural Center theatre will feature a Financial Aid break-out session at 10:30 a.m.

During their visit, attendees are encouraged to explore several areas on campus. See how the Health Sciences Center's cutting-edge labs and clinical spaces prepare students for high-demand careers and check out the state of the art fitness center and athletic facilities.

Meanwhile the Hospitality Institute will be open for students interested in the Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts programs and in the Fine Arts Center, guests can tour the gallery and studio art classrooms.

At both the Blue Bell and Pottstown campuses, guests should connect with the check-in-staff upon arrival to obtain their free swag bag, as well as instructions on how to best maximize the day.

For those unable to attend either of the open house dates, Harcum encouraged community members to register for other Admissions events throughout the year.
