What is the Drone Academy?
The Drone Academy is a cutting-edge educational experience that blends science, engineering, and aerial adventure. Students explore the physics of flight, the history of aviation, and the mechanics of drone technology—all while developing real-world skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and programming.
🌟 2025–2026 Academic Year: Discovery Program
This year, students in grades 7th-8th can enroll in our Discovery Program at the Challenger Learning Center. Here, they’ll:
- Learn the forces of flight and how aircraft stay airborne
- Dive into the history of aviation
- Pilot beginner drones in a drone soccer arena, where strategy meets speed

Coming Summer 2026: Build, Code, Fly!
Get ready for liftoff—Summer 2026 marks the launch of our full-scale Drone Academy experience for students in 5th grade and up. This immersive program offers:
- One-on-one instruction from drone experts
- Step-by-step guidance to build a drone from scratch
- Advanced piloting practice with drones that require real skill and precision
- A drone soccer tournament where students compete with drones they’ve built themselves
These advanced drones aren't toys – they're complex machines that challenge students to think like engineers and flylike pros.
