Do you qualify for testing exemption from one or all of the placement assessments? To find out if you are excused, submit at least one of the following to the Testing Center:
- Academic transcript from high school
- Academic transcript from college(s) attended
- ACT score report
- SAT score report
- PSAT score report
- PSSA score report
- Advanced Placement (AP) exam score report
- CLEP exam score report
- DSST exam score report
- ACCUPLACER score report
All score reports are valid for five (5) years, and transcripts do not expire.
For the fastest response, we encourage you to upload your documents to our secure server; however, if preferred, you can mail your documents to the Testing Center at Blue Bell Campus.

If you earned an A or B in high school Algebra II within the last five years, you are exempt from placement assessment and MAT 085. To verify, your high school transcript is required.
If you are exempted, you do not need to take the developmental math courses at Montco.
To determine if you should be placed in a higher-level math class, we recommend that you do take the math placement assessment. If you have college math credit, you do not need to take the math placement assessment.

If you have a cumulative 3.5 high school GPA, you are exempt from taking the reading placement assessment.
Additional Exemptions
- You've earned an associate's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
- You are enrolling in the Phlebotomy Certificate of Completion
- You are enrolling in the Culinary Arts Certificate program
- You are not seeking a degree: POWER Program students or students taking classes for personal enrichment or professional development
- You are a guest student
Dual Enrollment Students
If you are enrolled in the Dual Enrollment program at the College, you are required to satisfy the prerequisite(s) only for the courses in which you wish to enroll.
Upon matriculation to the College, you will need to fully comply with academic readiness expectations.
