Your step-by-step guide

Congratulations! Now that you've applied to Montco, you're one step closer to reaching your degree.

Keeping track of your application materials can be tricky. To make this process easier, we've created a handy checklist for you. Use it to manage everything from financial aid to registering for classes.

  1. Get to Know Montco
To begin, log into your MyMC3 account and complete Get to Know Montco. This step gives you a glimpse of life on campus and in the classroom. It’s a great introduction to student life!
  2. File Your FAFSA
One of your most important steps is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Our federal school code is 004452. Explore the many options available to help pay for college, such as scholarships and grants. Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information.
  3. Submit Your Transcript
You need to submit official transcripts from any high schools and/or colleges/universities you have attended. If you received a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), please submit your official GED scores or a copy of your GED diploma.
  4. Assess Your Skills
It is important as you begin your education at MCCC that you start in the right classes. We will carefully evaluate your transcripts, and if applicable, standardized test scores, to see if you are exempt from taking all or some of our placement tests in reading, writing, and math.

Here is a list of the exemptions we consider:

    • Associate’s degree or higher. (Please submit an official transcript)
    • Results from ACT, CLEP, PSAT, SAT or AP tests within the last 5 years
    • College transcript(s) showing equivalent competency
    • Cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or higher at the time of application
    • High School Algebra II with a B or higher within the past 5 years
Learn more about exemptions, and the testing process.
  5. Complete MyCareerPlan
Log into your MyMC3 account and access MyCareerPlan. By completing MyCareerPlan you will incorporate your strengths and interests to determine what career paths may be best suited for you.
  6. Make an Appointment with an Advisor to Register
To prepare for registration, an advisor will review the results of MyCareerPlan during your appointment. They will also work with you to develop your educational plan. To schedule an appointment call:
    Central Campus in Blue Bell
    West Campus in Pottstown
  7. Pay Your Tuition
Payment options are available to make paying your tuition easier.

The College offers payment plans so you can spread out your tuition payments over the course of the semester. To sign up for a payment plan and/or make a payment online, log into your MyMC3 account and select Admissions and Payments.

Tuition and fees can also be paid in person at Enrollment Services by credit card, money order, cash or check.

Questions? Contact the Payment Office at 215-641-6540 or email

  8. Get Ready For Class
    • Log into the MyMC3 account.
    • Access your student email for important College messages.
    • Check Self-Service for your class schedule.
    • Visit the campus bookstore on campus or online.

If you are seeking a certificate, you are strongly encouraged—but not required—to complete the following steps, too. Please know that the Assessing Your Skills step may still be required by some certificate programs.
