Are you a new Montco student?
Before connecting with an advisor, complete these steps:
- Send a copy of your high school and/or college transcript(s) via secure file upload. In order to determine the appropriate placement, advisors will be holistically evaluating any transcripts you may have. Please send
these at least 3 business days in advance of your advising appointment.
- Students who were recommended for ESL placement testing or are planning to enroll in ESL courses, should take the ESL Placement Test before their advising appointment.
- Next, file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you have questions, you can get more info from our Monty Bot at the bottom right of our website or by visiting mc3.edu/FAFSA for step-by-step instructions and workshops.
- Fill out the Student Advising Form.

If you don’t yet have a Student ID, the MyPhoto online system is now public and you can upload your photo directly in Montco Connect under Quick Links > Virtual ID Photo Submission.
Montgomery County Community College requires students to have their photo taken for their official college record. In order to receive a digital student ID we ask that you submit a photo. You can upload a color snapshot showing a full front view of your head and shoulders according to the requirements shown on this site. By using this process you will avoid lines and save valuable time. By submitting this photo for your student ID you agree this photo will become part of your official College record. - Complete MyCareerPlan which can be found under your 'Tasks' in Montco Connect.
- Update and/or confirm your profile information: Access Self-Service > "User Options" > and then "User Profile".
Sign Montco's Student Financial Responsibility Agreement (SFRA). The SFRA is a mandatory agreement that outlines financial obligations and responsibilities for attending Montco. You must complete the SFRA in Self-Service prior to registering for classes. This must be done each semester. - Schedule your appointment online or call 215-641-6577 and press Option 2.
