Since the beginning of her presidential tenure in May 2020, Dr. Bastecki-Perez has spearheaded about $98 million in capital projects to modernize MCCC’s two campuses, including the renovation of the science center, which features a redesign of the theater into a cultural center, renovation of South Hall at MCCC’s Pottstown Campus, construction of an expanded hospitality institute, renewal of athletic fields, and launch of a STEM-based Challenger Learning Center, the first in Pennsylvania. These transformational projects support MCCC’s overall educational strategy to serve learners of all ages and stages of life.

In addition to these pioneering initiatives, MCCC received a $1.1 million grant in 2022 for its new Student Wellness Center at the Pottstown Campus to support its holistic approach to student success.
MCCC further recently joined the PA STEM Consortium, which prepares students for in-demand careers in STEM. The opportunity is funded by a $4.98 million grant by the U.S. Department of Defense to enhance cybersecurity and STEM education opportunities.
Through inclusive and transparent processes, Dr. Bastecki-Perez led MCCC’s evolution of its mission, visions, and equity statements, plus the development of the 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, 2023-2033 Facilities Master Plan, and the Strategic Employee Workforce Plan.
